SunTrust Banks, Inc. [ATLANTA] (NYSE: STI) announced that Anil Cheriyan will retire as chief information officer effective March 31, 2018. Scott Case will succeed Cheriyan as CIO. To ensure a smooth transition, Case will begin the CIO role effective February 5, 2018. Scott Case has served in senior technology executive positions with Bank of America for 15 years prior to joining SunTrust in April 2015. He recently was named CIO for Ciox Health in October 2017 but will return to the financial services industry with this appointment. Case is on the board of TechBridge, Inc.
Nationwide [COLUMBUS, Ohio] Chief Information Officer Michael Keller has announced that he will retire from his role later this year. The company anticipates it will name Keller’s successor sometime in the second half of 2018. Keller will stay until the transition to his successor is complete. Keller has served on the Board of Directors for Columbus 2020. He is a member of the Board for the Columbus Collaboratory. He is also a member of the IBM Board of Advisors and McKinsey’s Global Insurance COO Roundtable. Prior to joining Nationwide, he served as Chief Technology Officer at JPMorgan Chase (formerly Bank One), and several executive positions at IBM.

Ryder System, Inc. [MIAMI] (NYSE: R) announced the appointment of Rajeev Ravindran to the position of Chief Information Officer. Prior to this position, Ravindran was the CIO and Group Vice President at JM Enterprises, where he was with the company since 2003 and held the position for the last six years. With more than two decades of IT leadership experience, he has worked in roles at various companies including Interactive Metronome, Asista.com, and AutoNation. Ravindran replaces Mel Kirk, who has joined Ryder’s Fleet Management Solutions (FMS) team as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
